Guided Family Ride

Our Guides will accompany you along forest bridleways and surfaced forest tracks, offering you the opportunity to see a little more of the beautiful Forest of Dean. Approximately 10 miles in length.

Verderers’ Trail

Rated intermediate, the Verderers’ Trail offers seven miles of all-weather challenges, including fast corners, big berms and some rigorous rollovers.

Is BikeFest a family-friendly event?

In a word…Yes! We’ll have loads of on-site activity to keep you and your little ones happy. From bike-themed arts and crafts and balance-bike training to silly challenges and silent disco, it’s full-on fun in the forest all the way.

Will you be taking people out on the mountain-bike trails?

BikeFest takes place at Whitemead Forest Park and not on the forest trails. We will, however, be running briefing sessions and giving people information on using the trails in their own time. You can also book coaching or guiding sessions if you want to improve your riding skills and explore the trails further.

What does my ticket price include?

Weekend tickets give you entry to all activities within Whitemead Forest Park, including swimming pool and full leisure facilities. All weekend ticket holders are also required to book on-site accommodation. Daytime tickets are limited to 9am – 6pm on Saturday or Sunday (depending on ticket) and give you access to all activities during that time. Daytime tickets will not give you access to the BikeFest site past 6pm. For activities on Friday and Saturday after 6pm you’ll need a weekend ticket.

Different wristbands will be issued to holders of different types of tickets, so please make sure you have booked the correct ones.

Where do I get my wristbands and event information pack?

When you arrive on site you will be directed to the BikeFest reception where you will pick up your event information packs, event wristbands and accommodation information. This will also contain information on your meeting points for daily briefings, guiding and coaching sessions. We will also be launching an event app in July which will have up-to-date information, schedules and latest news.

What is the timing of BikeFest?

BikeFest will run from 6pm – 11pm on Friday, 9am – 11pm on Saturday and 9am – 6pm on Sunday.

What’s your refund policy?

Once you have purchased your event ticket, accommodation package or coaching/guiding sessions they are non-refundable. This is because we have a very limited number of tickets and we may not be able to reallocate them. Tickets and accommodation may be transferred to your friends or family.

I have an enquiry about the event. Who do I speak to?

You can e-mail us at with your query and contact details. One of the team will get back to you by the next working day. Alternatively you can call our team on 0800 669944.

If I leave the event, can I get back in?

Yes, we expect that you’ll want to leave event to explore the mountain bike trails or take coaching/guiding sessions. Just make sure you don’t leave the site without your wristband.

Can I bring a dog to the event?

Dogs are not permitted at Whitemead Forest Park during BikeFest due to the increased level of on-site activity, noise and guests – your dog would understand. Assistance dogs will, of course, be allowed.

What are the facilities on-site?

Whitemead is an award-winning holiday park and has excellent shower and toilet facilities. The park also has an on-site shop, bar and cashpoint.

Can I book a weekend ticket and not book on-site accommodation?

Sorry, we only have enough capacity for the evening entertainment for people staying on-site. We have some great musical acts playing in the evening and we expect they are going to be popular.

What are the accommodation check in and check out times?

Check In: All accommodation from 3pm on Friday 14th September. Your checkout time depends on your accommodation.

Check Out: Camping, caravan and motorhomes: 7pm on Sunday 16th September. Family Pods and Glamping Pods: 10am on Sunday 16th September. Cabins, Lodges and apartments: 10am on Monday 17th September (we are giving you a free night’s accommodation!)

Can I pay for extra nights’ accommodation?

Yes. Contact with your requirements and we’ll put you in touch with one of our accommodation staff who will have access to your BikeFest booking.

Can I hire bikes?

Yes, our friends at Dean Forest Cycles have provided an excellent 10% discount on weekend hire to anyone coming to BikeFest and 20% if you are a current Boundless member. To book your bike, contact them directly on 01594 368009.
